Children playing outside near Imagine Early Learning Centers New York City Mt. Sinai location

We are Mt. Sinai Kids! We have been serving children ages 2 months to 5 years of employees of the Mount Sinai Medical Center and the surrounding community for twenty-four years. We take advantage of the resources in our community to enhance curriculum including frequent trips to Central Park, the local library local markets and vendors. We are also an active part of the hospital community, participating in events and sending get well cards and visiting the hospital’s community areas to sing to patients and staff. Our experienced and trained teachers implement curriculum focused on developing the ‘whole child’ in fun, stimulating and nurturing classrooms.

Since 2012 we have been contracted with the New York City Department of Education as a Universal Pre-K program for four-year-olds, focusing instruction on Kindergarten preparation aligned with the New York State Common Core Learning Standards.

Hours of Operation:

We are open 52 weeks a year, Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for Full-time and Part-time care.

Facilities:

Our center is located on two floors of a brownstone. We have seven classrooms and a backyard play area.We are licensed by the Bureau of Child Care/ NYC DOHMH, accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and endorsed by Eco-Healthy Childcare.

Special Activities:

We are located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, which provides a safe environment with many opportunities for outside play and learning. The children play in Central Park and the teachers often take the children on excursions to neighborhood businesses and community services (police, fire, hospital, bagel store, pizza place). Our center has a special relationship with Mt. Sinai Hospital. During the holidays and on other special occasions the Pre-schoolers sing for the patients in the geriatric center. Children and families donate and deliver toys for the hospital’s Toys for Tots program. At times, Mt. Sinai employees volunteer in the classrooms, including some health care providers presenting curriculum topics including dental health and good hygiene habits as part of our Learning Healthy Early program.

Parent Testimonials:

“Both my children started at Imagine as infants. The Center provides a warm nurturing environment where the children play and learn and thrive in their surroundings.”

“I’ve been very happy with the care my children have received and love how excited my daughter is to see her teachers and give them hugs. My son was well equipped for kindergarten and I credit the Imagine Pre-K classes for providing the necessary social and educational tools to make him feel comfortable and ready for the transition.”

If you are interested in the program please make an appointment to tour our center. There is a $25.00 nonrefundable fee to place your child on our waiting list.
