Brooklyn Heights

Brooklyn Heights Child Care Center

Welcome to Imagine Early Learning Center of Brooklyn Heights – where the past and present combine to foster a love of learning now and in the future. Housed on the lower level of the First Unitarian Church, our school embodies the architectural uniqueness of this historic neighborhood, including a large community room that serves as an indoor play space and an area for school-wide events. In our classrooms, teachers use modern teaching methods and their knowledge of child development to guide our children, ages 2 months to 5 years, through all aspects of early learning, providing them with the necessary building blocks to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond.

Since 2013 we have been contracted with the New York City Department of Education as a Universal Pre-K program for four-year-olds, focusing instruction on Kindergarten preparation aligned with the New York State Common Core Learning Standards. We have a full day UPK contract.

Hours of Operation:

  • We are open 52 weeks a year, Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., for Full-time or Part-time care.

Facilities:

We are located in a beautiful Landmark building in the heart of Brooklyn Heights and have five classrooms in our center, each dedicated to a developmental stage. We also have an indoor gym and an outdoor play area.

We are licensed by the Bureau of Child Care/NYC DOHMH, accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and endorsed by Eco-Healthy Child Care.

Special Activities:

Our professionally trained staff take full advantage of our beautiful neighborhood, taking the children on excursions to the Pierrepont Playground and the Promenade, visiting the local Farmer’s Market and Flea Market, the fire station and various local businesses. The older children have an on-going relationship with the St. Charles Senior Center, where they visit and help celebrate the residents’ birthdays. Keeping the children connected to our community helps them learn about different jobs, cultures, and the importance of working together. Our center also takes great pride in our relationship with City-As-School High School, which provides student interns to work with teacher mentors in our classrooms each semester.

Parent Testimonials:

“My daughter loves her friends and teachers! She is happy in the environment and loves to talk about her day.”
