Newark Federal Kids Center is a bright, cheery, recently renovated center in the Peter Rodino federal building, serving federal employees and community families, only a few blocks from Penn Station.
The center has 7 classrooms, an indoor gym, full kitchen, staff lounge, family and staff resource center, and an outdoor playground on the secured grounds of the federal campus. The children enjoy weekly sessions with our music and movement teacher and story time with a local librarian.

Meet the Director
Lisa Parone has a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Iona College and an M.A. in Special Education from Kean University. Lisa worked as a second grade teacher for a year at PS-175 in the Bronx. She supervised the after-school program at the Lehman College center before she was appointed Director of Newark Federal Kids Care in 1999. Lisa is a certified trainer in ECERS and ITERS and is certified P-3. Outside of Imagine, Lisa is on the District VC Ethics Committee of Essex County, and is a member of GrowNJ, a Quality Star Rating Program.

If you are interested in the program, please call to schedule a tour. There is a $30 wait list fee, which is a tax deductible donation to our Imagine Kids for Kids foundation.
Accreditation & Licensing Information
The center is licensed by the NYC DOHMH/Bureau of Child Care, accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and includes an NYC Department of Education Pre-K for All program.
