Mt Sinai Kids serves Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers
Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 6:00pm, 52 weeks a year, Full-time and Part-time Care
Imagine has provided child care services for employees of Mt. Sinai Medical Center and students at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine as well as the surrounding community for over 25 years. The centers includes seven classrooms and an outdoor courtyard play space.
Mt. Sinai Kids are active in the hospital community, making cards for patients, participating in art shows, and singing in the hospital atrium for holidays and special events. Mt. Sinai employees volunteer in our classrooms, helping to teach good health and hygiene habits as part of our Learning Healthy Early curriculum.

Meet the Directors

Gail Krieger has a B.S. and M.A. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Queens College. She joined the Imagine family in 2003 and has worked in the field of early childhood education for over 30 years. Gail also works with the Suffolk County Child Care Council to train teachers in Early Childhood practices. She has also taught the Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) training course. Gail is Imagine’s Learning Healthy Early and Pre-K for All Coordinator and works with the directors and staff developing and implementing the LHE and Pre-K programs at all centers. Gail also teaches at the CUNY School of Professional Studies.
Co-Director Nancy Echavarria has been in the field of Early Childhood for over 20 years working as a teacher with toddlers through preschoolers and as an administrator. She earned a BS in Mathematics with a Minor in Education from St. John’s University and an MS in Early Childhood Education Education and Special Education from Touro College. She loves spending time with her husband and two sons, and is very happy and proud to be part of the Imagine Team since 2004.

Associate Director Mt. Sinai/Field Director Meagan Maher earned a BA in English Literature/Creative Writing from Adelphi University and went on to get an MFA in Children’s Literature/Writing for Children from Simmons College. During her studies, she mentored under children’s books publishers at Candlewick Press and HarperCollins, studying how to engage young minds in early literary. Then she went on to intern at The Carol Mann Literary Agency, where she focused on the children’s literature department and what made picture books, chapter books, and novels targeted at young adults successful. 
 
Meagan went on to Mercy College and earned an MS in Early Childhood Education Birth-2nd Grade/Tri-Certification in students with General Education, Students with Special Needs/Autism, and English Language Learners. She has worked as a Special Education teacher for preschool age children for three years, and as a Lead Teacher in General/Integrated Classrooms for four years. Meagan has served in administrative positions such as Vice Principal, Curriculum Coordinator, and Assistant Education Director for the last four years at non-profit schools in the Bronx and Manhattan. She also has experience with infant and nursery age/toddler children Meagan will act as Associate Director at Mt. Sinai Kids and assist other Imagine centers with administrative coverage and oversight as Field Director.
