Hi there, Imagine Families – an EXCITING announcement!
We’ve recently teamed up with Josie, an integrated mental health and career coaching company for parents with littles. After struggling to navigate the wild ride of pregnancy and the return to a big consulting career, co-founder & CEO Michelle Yu wanted to create a more supported experience for parental leave and beyond.
As a company dedicated to supporting the whole family, Imagine is always seeking ways to add value beyond our amazing childcare centers. We recognize that children can be their best when their caregivers are at their best – but that means we need to take care of ourselves. It is why we strategically partner with companies like Josie to deliver holistic support and care for our families beyond the four walls of our centers. As a valued member of our community, you should expect to see more of these services from us in the coming months and years.
Please join us on Friday, November 22nd from 12 – 12:45 PM EST for co-hosted Imagine + Josie event: “Sleighing Self-Care: A Recipe for Success Ahead of the Holidays.” (RSVP here)
Read on to get Josie’s hot take on self-care, and learn a bit more about what you can expect at this engaging event – see you there!

Sleighing Self-Care: A Recipe for Success Ahead of the Holidays
As the holiday season approaches, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the endless to-do lists, social gatherings, pressure to create perfect memories, and wrap-up all the year-end goals at work. The idea of self-care might seem like a distant dream amidst the chaos, and in a world that often glorifies hustle culture, it’s no wonder that many of us have grown skeptical about the concept of self-care. We’ve also been led to believe that taking a luxurious bubble bath or indulging in an expensive spa retreat is the epitome of self-care, which only feeds our skepticism.
Self-care has become a buzzword synonymous with luxurious bubble baths and indulgent treats, but what if we’ve been missing the point all along? True self-care is not about temporary escapes; it’s about the internal work required to set healthy boundaries, practice self-compassion, and prioritize our well-being without guilt. This might be more challenging than sinking into a warm bath, but as with most things, hard work leads to lasting results. And there is no better time to start practicing than the holidays!
At Josie, we believe in empowering parents with a fresh perspective on self-care that goes beyond the surface-level understanding. We see self-care as a multi-layered cake, with each layer serving a unique purpose. Our “Self-Care Cake” is a fun, insightful (and kind of nerdy) way to teach you about the various aspects of self-care and encourage you to explore this concept in a whole new light:
Layer 1 of the Self-Care Cake represents our values, which form the foundation for everything we do. By aligning our actions with our core values, we create a sense of purpose, groundedness, and authenticity in our daily lives, even during the festive chaos.
Layer 2 symbolizes the inner work necessary for growth and resilience. This layer encourages us to reflect on our thoughts and emotions, develop self-awareness, and cultivate healthy coping mechanisms to navigate holiday stressors effectively.
Layer 3 is the proverbial cherry on top – the bubble bath, if you will. This layer encompasses the more traditional ideas of self-care, such as relaxation techniques and self-indulgent activities, which are essential for recharging our batteries during this hectic time.
Want to build (bake?) your own, personalized Self-Care Cake? Join us on Friday, November 22nd, 2024 from 12 – 12:45 PM EST for an engaging webinar where we’ll dive deeper into the layers of the Self-Care Cake and explore practical strategies for applying this transformative approach to your life during the holidays. During the webinar, you’ll have the opportunity to create your own personalized Self-Care Cake LIVE on the call, tailoring each layer to your unique needs and goals.
You’ll walk away with your very own Self-Care Cake that nourishes your mind, body, and spirit so you can sleigh the holiday season with grace and resilience. RSVP here
