BSC Kids serves Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers
Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 6:00pm, 52 weeks a year

BSC Kids Place serves the employees of the IRS and community families. It is an open, light-filled space with 6 classrooms, an indoor gym, full size kitchen and staff lounge and a library/resource area for children, parents and staff.

Each classroom opens to an age-appropriate outdoor playground area, which also includes a Zen and vegetable garden. The classes enjoy neighborhood walks to visit the animals at the nearby Brookhaven Ecology Center and participate in seasonal activities in the community.

Meet the Director

Kathy Hattenback has a BA in Education and has been working in the field of Early Childhood Education for the past 30 years. Kathy has served on the executive board for the Suffolk affiliate for NAEYC since 1997. She also has an Administrator’s Credential and is a CPR/First Aid Instructor for National Safety Council.

Suzanne Lazenby has a Bachelors in Family and Human Services, a
Credential in Infant and Toddler Development and is pursuing a
master’s in Child and Family Advocacy. In addition to having 30 years’
experience, Suzanne is also a CPR/First Aid instructor for National
Safety Council.
